The Landscape of College Football
Being in the top 10 is a scary proposition this year on College football. Last week, almost half of the teams ranked in the top 10, went down in flames. This week was a re-run.
USC #2 lost to an unranked Stanford.
Wisconsin #5 lost to Illinois
Kentucky #8 lost to South Carolina (Ha ha)
Florida #9 lost to LSU
Out of those three only two are excusable. Florida lost to LSU #1 and Kentucky lost to South Carolina #11. Wisconsin is going to be hard pressed to explain losing to Illinois and Stanford beating USC has knocked off App State's shocker in Michigan as the all time greatest upset in college football history.
In previous years, these types of upsets and losses have come sparingly but this year, it seems the norm. You can almost expect at least someone to get upset every week.
What does this mean to South Carolina football? It means, we have to keep playing our games and hope we do not fall in to the trap of looking ahead.
