EVEN MEYER IS SHOCKED

COLUMBIA, S.C. — University of Florida coach Urban Meyer walked away from his postgame interview early Sunday morning repeating the same phrase.“Seven touchdowns,” Meyer muttered. “Unbelievable.”

He referred to the seven touchdowns (two passing, five rushing) produced by Gators quarterback Tim Tebow in a 51-31 win at South Carolina. Moments earlier,

Meyer had done the unthinkable; he had uttered the H-word in reference to Tebow.“I think that was a Heisman performance,” Meyer said. “I really do. I mean we’re near the end of the season. I normally don’t say stuff like that, but I had no idea about the statistics.“You have a young guy have 120 yards rushing. Five touchdowns. Five touchdowns rushing? Five touchdowns rushing? That’s unbelievable. Then he threw for 304 [and two touchdowns]. … Seven touchdowns accounted for. That’s a pretty good day’s work. I might buy him a sandwich on the way home.”
