NO BOWL

As much as I love to watch my Gamecocks play football, I do not want to watch them play another game this year.

A 6 and 6 team has no right to be in a bowl game. Plus, with the way things are going, we can end the season now with a 500 record verson going in to 2008 with a losing record.

DO NOT ACCEPT A BOWL BID

If we get a bowl chance (A BIG IF) I don't think they'll turn it down, especially with money involved.

Oh I know they will, but I don't think they should. The only good thing will be getting the practice time for the younger players.

Oh well, look on the bright side - if we get a bowl this year, we'll have been to a bowl three years in a row.

Not going to a bowl, were one offered, amounts to punishment. I'm all for punishment when it results in improvement. In this case it would not.

Going to a a "lowest on the rung" bowl game, if one is offered, gives what? 1)Slight shame in playing at the lowest bowl game offering. 2) Gives team taste of what they want to to do next year (here's a Big Mac - next year don't you want a steak?) 3) Practice at another venue 4)Valuable time on the field of play (don't you think they need it?)

The positives outweigh the negatives. Especially when you consider they aren't being rewarded with a Rose Bowl now are they?

We don't make the rules for bowl elligibility. We play by the rules though and if one is offered we show up and play, take our knocks, and if we really want we show everyone what we are made of.

I am cool with the need for practice. I just don't think the worst collapse in the history of the school deserves a bowl game.
