But...I think Spurrier held on to Mitchell too long. But other than that, I think he will develop at decent QB at SC.

The rest of your comment, I agree with. See... it's not hard to play nice.Chuckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16334333995330626856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31653357.post-19317699823995873892008-07-15T20:55:00.000-07:002008-07-15T20:55:00.000-07:002008-07-15T20:55:00.000-07:00Fair enough. I don't know much about Spurrier, Jr, but he more than likely learned how to run an effective college offense from his old man. Combine that with some fresh, hopefully good, ideas of his own and he may be the answer. Tyrone Nix had to go though; you can't give up 40+ points a game and expect to win, at least that's how I feel as I'm more defensive minded anyway. Spurrier expects a lot out of his QB's in my opinion, which may do him in given the QB situation at South Carolina, but hopefully he's patient enough to develop new talent. Setting his sights a little lower this year was probably the best thing to do. You and I both know (hopefully) that an SEC championship last year was reaching given the new players and unproven D and O-Lines. Not beating Clemson though will hurt recruiting, as you saw this past year. Those are just my opinons. Feel free to dissect them and discredit them if you want, but I think that's the unbiased truth.Mark Z.http://www.blogger.com/profile/14681509200869242327noreply@blogger.com
